Living laid-back style. Expensive bills. Dirt cheap cigarettes. Funky resort. Friendly earthies. Perfect view by the balcony. Comfy slip-ons. Familiar faces. Over indulgence in snacks. Having Korean neighbors on the entire floor. Freezing weather. Dining by the pool. Eating in fear from roaming stray cats. Dancing on the corridor. Short retail therapy in town. Getitng cheap manicures. Run down houses. Numerous jump shots. Having cup noodles by the lobby lounge. Oh-so-thrilling para-sailing, jet ski and banana boat ride. Never-before terrorist experience. Long taxi rides. Supposingly best seafood restaurant in Batam. Countless rounds of bowling. Muscle aches. Late night strolls. New friends. Ferry rides. Funny encounters. Waterfront City, you've given me beautiful memories and a reality check. And this getaway wouldn't be made possible without you, definitely caught me by surprise; thank you.

Time really flies, it's the new year once more and I'm back in town now. Meanwhile, the festive season and school break is almost close to an end. I love the memories 2009 gave me, both rain and shine. Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived. I've learnt that things don't always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And that there are things that go wrong that don't always get fixed or return to the way they were before. Certain things stay broken. But we can still go through bad times and keep searching for better ones, as long as you have people who love you. I don't say this often but I'm afraid of what the future brings. I'm just glad I get to share my life with all my loved ones, a truckload of thankyous and sorrys to my cherished family and friends. Cheers to a fresh start and new memories!
